Hello there, and welcome to Monday. Did you have a nice weekend? My friend Catherine and I went to visit our dear friend Heather, who lives a little far away.
While we were there we drank pink beer and vodka and black cherry sodas out of mason jars...
we went on a hike that gave us sunburns that looked like necklaces...
and went to the best used book store ever.
Also, I wore my favorite dress and favorite pair of shoes when we went out one night.
I also knit about half a panel of my blanket. Yay-pants.
How was your weekend?

I love the tube.
(see Ashley and I in the reflection?)
Nevermind that the last time I was in London I was trying to get my mother and I from Kings Cross Station to Putney Bridge. With four pieces of luggage. No currency that an automated system would take. At rush hour. In the biggest heat wave London has probably ever had in the last bajillion years.
Nevermind that we were little sardines in the tin tube can. Nevermind that the official tube announcer person kept reminding us to drink water and help people that looked like they might be dying from heatstroke. Nevermind that we were seperated to opposite sides of the train and I didn't know which side the door was going to open on. I planned an exit stradegy that involved tossing my suitcase over people's heads and concert diving over the crowd to get out.
Still, I see photos pass through this pool on Flickr, and I miss the tube.
It's clouds illusions I recall. I really don't know the tube at all.

While you're waiting on pins and needles for today's shop update (I know you are!) enjoy getting to know our monster of the week- Vampira.
Creepy, kitchy, cool, Vampira was a character created by a woman named Malia Nurmi. In The Vampira Show, she glided around in the fog, let out a shriek that any B-actress auditioning for a horror film only wishes she could emulate, then went about her business of hosting that night's horror show.

As a general rule, I don't really swear that much. Sure, one naughty word or another may slip out under extreme circumstances, but usually I prefer to be more precise with my language. I think it is more interesting and even more amusing in some cases.
One of the extreme cases I am referring to happens to do with crafting. Sometimes I step back and take a look at something that I am making, and if it is turning out exactly as I hoped, or even better than I had hoped, I feel compelled to say the f-word. It's usually followed by the word "gorgeous" or "amazing."
So, there you go. My Sunday confession: I swear because of crafts. Not because they frustrate me, but because I am a bit full of myself when it comes to my needles weilding and paper tearing skills.

I've been watching Season 1 of The Big Bang Theory from Netflix lately. It's so cute!
I highly recommend it for people who like sitcoms about young people who live in apartments that they could never afford because they spend more time being silly and neurotic than working. And for people who love the geektastic.

Hello friends!
I am participating in a giveaway on Freckled Nest this week, so if you are visiting from there, welcome! Grab a nametag and a bow for your hair, and I'll pour you some punch. If you are not coming here from Freckled Nest, go sneak a peek at her blog. Leigh-Ann is as cute as a button, and you might win all the stuff she's giving away!
Anyway, the point of all this is this: let's be friends! I'll break the ice by playing a little game I picked up on Shaina's blog...
