A photo of some of the sweet bundles of yarn I picked up in Scotland and London, for all you yarn lovers out there...
1. Old Maiden Aunt Yarns, 100% Baby Alpaca, hand died in Scotland. I bought this yarn in a cute little boutique in Edinburgh called K1yarns. It appealed to me because I am a sucker for alpaca (comical, considering I live in in an area where the weather is so warm that I can only wear alpaca items for about one hour, one day a year) and because of the dye job. The shades of charcoal wave beautifully in this yarn. The photo above does not do it justice.
2. Rennie Hand Knits, Chunky Donegal, Aran, Made in Scotland. I love a good black yarn.
3. Rennie Hand Knits, Chunky, Aran, Made in Scotland. I also love a good gray yarn, and I have some very exciting plans for how these two balls will turn into some sassy hats.
4. Gedifra Byzanz, Made in Italy. It have purchased this yarn before in Seattle, and I loved it. When I saw it in a shop in Scotland, I bought a ball in a different colorway. The colorway reminds me of a mermaid and I plan on using it to trim a scarf.
5. Gedifra Leola, Made in Italy. I bought one ball of this yarn from my local craft store a few years ago, and I knitted it all up like my life depended on it. The shop I bought it from sold out of it just as quickly. When I saw it in Scotland, I snatched up two more balls. I plan on using it to trim some hats and gloves and making some rosettes.
I also got some vintage buttons from Loop. Methinks (actually, meknows) that we will be seeing them on some new little treats rolling into the shop in the next few weeks.
