I don't take a traditional approach to travel photography, or photography in general, for that matter. Take my first trip to Europe, for example. My aunt and I went to Spain, and while she was taking photos of Gaudi's apartment and La Sagrada familia, I was taking photos of skinny stray cats and framing statues portrait style. She got people to take photos of us in front of monuments, I took photos on the 12 sets (12!) having their wedding photos taken in one plaza at the same time. (Just to clarify, it wasn't a group wedding, just a popular location). Somewhere between that trip in 2001 and today I also started taking photos of sunsets, my feet, my food, roads, flowers, and myself (ala myspace pic).
It's just the way I roll.
And here are a few examples...
I pretty much take a photo of every lion statue I see in the UK. This one was in Edinburgh Castle.
Sometimes I am so busy taking photos of my sweets that I forget to take a photo of the Loch we are touring.
I also like to take photos while driving. Usually, I am not the driver.
Cobblestones at Stirling Castle.
A griffin...
... and a mermaid.
I still take pictures of other people's weddings. Wouldn't Stirling Castle be a beautiful place for a wedding?
Food and Feet at St. Andrews...
And some blur-tastic self portraits...
I love blurry photos.
What do you find yourself taking pictures of when you travel?

Very informative post about traditional approach to travel photography! Keep the nice job is really interesting. We would love to see more.
